Mucker/MUF
Policy
The Programming policy on Le Jardin Mystique was created
with three goals in mind:
- Give
players the opportunity to create programs beneficial
to themselves and the MUCK
- Protect
players from any type of abuse
- Protect
the server, database, and any related materials from misuse,
unauthorized augmentation, or other abuse
In
so doing, the following limitations apply to all programs
written for use on Le Jardin Mystique:
-
All MUF programs must be cleared by a programming wizard
prior to implementation
-
Programs that may violate the letter or spirit of the
AUP and the policies of Le Jardin Mystique are prohibited
-
Programs that duplicate the behavior of the @wall program
or programs that override the Haven Bit on players are
prohibited
-
Programs used to teleport players, object to players or
players to objects are strictly prohibited.
-
Programs that set flags or other properties on players
without their consent is prohibited
-
Programs that edit or alter a player in any way without
their consent is prohibited
-
Programs that in any way violates the privacy of any individual
or group is strictly prohibited
-
Programs that find players (i.e. 'where' clones, etc.)
is prohibited
-
Programs that duplicate page, whisper,
say, spoof, pose,
etc. are prohibited
-
Programs that allow access to properties or messages on
players, objects, rooms, exits, etc. you do not own and
could not find out through normal means is strictly prohibited
-
Programs that simulate the abilities of a mucker level
higher than has been granted that player or simulate the
abilities of a wizard are strictly prohibited
-
Programs written for the purpose of compromising or damaging
the database or server is strictly prohibited.
Infractions
of the above are handled in the following manner:
-
A determination will be made based on the logs and an
interview whether there was malicious intent
-
If it is determined there was no malicious intent, the
program will be pulled until such time as the problem
is corrected. The program will then be re-reviewed by
the Head Programming Wizard to determine fitness and,
if passed, will be reinstated.
If it is determined there was malicious intent, the following
schedule of punishments apply (depending on severity,
certain steps may be skipped and the character summarily
@toaded):
-
Immediate removal of the offending program and removal
of the mucker bit for not less than 30 days
- Permanent
removal of the mucker bit and all programs associated
with that player
- Permanent
removal of the mucker bit and all offending programs
written by that player and @newpasswording that player
for a time period not to exceed one year
-
@toading of the character
